Description
Here is the blacktip reef shark and the whitetip reef shark in the same picture. Both of these sharks are named for their colored fins. Black for the blacktip reef shark, and white for the whitetip reef shark. They're the keystone species of the Indo-Pacific reefs, keeping the fish population well balanced. Blacktips hunt in the day, whitetips hunt at night. And while the blacktip reef shark is mostly solitary, the whitetip reef shark is socialable.
