The coral reefs of the Caribbean Sea is home to the aptly named Caribbean reef shark. It it the most commonly encountered reef shark in this area. The Caribbean reef shark is one of the largest apex predators in the coral reef ecosystem. It and it fellow members of the shiver go into a feeding frenzy at a slightest scent of blood. Caribbean reef sharks also detect low-frequency sounds that other sharks can't hear.
