Description A very impressice brush turkey nest built beside Cochrone lagoon, only about twenty metres from a swan's nest which looks tiny by comparison. This nest would be 1.5 metres tall and 5 or 6 metres in diameter. The male builds the nest, the female digs holes and buries the eggs, and the heat of the decomposing vegetation incubates the eggs. Several times a day the male will scrape away nesting material or add more to regulate the temperature.
