Description Here is a prime example of the result of one of my "sudden falcon splurges." I'll draw anime, anime, anime...and all of a sudden, something snaps in my head and in an instant, I'm fervently drawing falcons.

I put a lot more detail into this than I've ever put into anything ever before. Also, the reason it may look a bit fuzzy is because I couldn't scan it because of it's size (11" X 14"), so I had to take a picture of it to be able to post it.

I think it is my mission in life to draw the perfect falcon - not just conformationally correct, but also embodying the spirit of the bird.

I feel here, I've gotten close...very close.

God, those are georgous. It makes me want one so bad. :-P. It looks as if you took everything that is a falcon and put it in the tip of your pencil and let it free. It's amazing, I know it's getting old but, . Well done!

yes! the texture is great. maybe camera fuzziness even helped you for once? nah. the faces are wonderful, you seem to have caught the intelligent and fierceness. and the sort of beading on the claws is a good touch. it keeps them from looking stylized. one comment from the peanut gallery though. the closer wing on the bird to the left feels like it's just hanging there. admittedly i'm not checking out bird's armpits (or would it be wingpits?) but it seems like the feathers aren't quite going the right way. maybe if they angled up or out the wing would seem more a continuous part of the body and less an addition?

Hmmmm *looks closer* You're right when you say that the left bird's right wing does look a little awkward. I think the two main reasons are: The breast feathers are a different length and color than the underwing coverts, and *bulletgreen: The line attaching the wing to the body is not smooth enough - it's too abrupt, as well as the wing looking too 2D.

Both these are things I should have changed - in reality, the breast feathers meld into the underwing coverts, instead of being so different from one another.

Thank you ^_^ I shall keep what you said in mind when I'm working on my next falcon. Thank you for the compliments, too.

Wow! Gorgeous detail in this pic! ^^ Especially in the eyes - the eyes look realistic, and they really look like the piercing eyes of a falcon. The feathers' texture is great too. Keep it up, it's a great artwork!

Oooohh...very pretty. I . <3 All the pretty details for the feathers...the pose is really nice for both of them, all accurate and cute and such, and I like the shading/composition of the rockyish perch they're stiting on. It's very beatiful. And good luck with your goal there...it is quite a noble one.

It should. Just once I would like to do something REALLY COOL, and then have a flash of lightning at that precise moment.

Personally I wish I could grow cat-ears at "kawaii" or awkward moments. Maybe a sweat-drop too. Though I guess those would be props, not back-drops.

Windfalcon, I can't get over how awesomely talented your are! The avians look like peragrin falcons if I miss my guess.

I love the way you capture the feathers and wing poses in your art. Kudos to you.

Yep, they're peregrines ^_^ Thanks It's kind of depressing when I put tons of effort into something like this and get just one comment, whereas a lot of the anime stuff I whip up get tons of comments -_-

I know how you feel. I put tons of effort into writing my fan fictions and only get a couple of remarks. But the not so great stories are the ones that get the all reviews. I take as a lesson in not taking fandom too seriously.

Don't get too discouraged about the lack of comments on your non-anime art. I think you are fine artist. Keep up the awesome work.
