Description I haven't had time in so long to paint something just for me. Even the holiday card was something planned that I do every year.  I was visiting a friend and doodled this on some watercolor paper, and finally found time (or made time) to paint it.  I have a minor cold right now, so I really needed something to do that I don't have to worry about messing up :D  I suppose when I doodle I naturally go along similar subjects to Ritual or Ceremony .

The reason I uploaded such a small file is because the painting itself is only 5.5X7 inches. It's probably bigger on your screen than in real life.

Watercolor on soft-press paper, 5.5X7 inches

Again very nice.

Mossgold: Seemingly tangled in the viney tree top of the Asiland Forest, the Mossgold was discovered to be a bird with his own set of rules of aviation. The Mossgold has the uncanny ability to dart to tree climbing rodents that tangle in the vines and retrieve his morning meal with ease as if using the tangled branches to his own advantage. This tactic is also useful against the Rot Rodents that tend to carry funguses and tree eating bacteria that eventually level and entire forest. Hunters and guardsmen also prize these birds of prey for clearing out unwanted parasitic fowls, crows, and other such nuisances. “Mossgold” for they are most fond of trees, gathered in wondrous moss of all kinds, nest for their fledglings. Where they get the moss gathered from and how they grow it well in the nest, is still unknown. Nevertheless, if one is nested in a forest near you, you can rest assured that rodent and parasitic bird problems will begin to be under control. Message me if you like what I wrote. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love your work, Brenda! Thank you so much for sharing! I have also purchased your book! It's fantastic! Would it be OK if I asked some questions about the concepts in your book  later? I have only flipped through the pages and I had inquiries. Have a great time!

That's really awesome! How long does it take you to paint something like this? With all the details?

windfalcon In reply to redkitebait [2015-01-05 01:00:08 +0000 UTC]

As with all my paintings, it depends on many different factors.  This painting is pretty small but I was sick, so it took longer than usual.
