Description I'm not sure if I've ever done something entirely in pastel colors before. It was a little scary at first but I think I could get accustomed to using them some more...in moderation, of course.

This is a hand-tooled and shaped leather mask, painted in acrylics and set with a rose quartz. It is the second in a series of Seasons masks based on my Seasons stories (Summer can be found here: [link] ) This mask represents Spring in her bird form.

This is available for sale in my Etsy shop here: [link]

Ahaha I'm glad. It's one of the few of my 'experiment' masks I still have left.

Really? Doesn't look like it to me! (then again, I'd wear/praise ANY bird of prey mask, lol XD)

Hahah doesn't look like what, an experiment? This was one of the early masks I made while I was still learning to shape the leather. I still like it, though. :3

Oh wow.. pastels definitely are new for you, but I think it definitely works. Very feminine in shape as well!

And thought- maybe this shaped beak for my commission? It's sorta inbetween the raven and raptor beaks right? Ish? lol

very nice- it reminds me somewhat of the hummingbirds that travel through my area in the spring

Good choice with the rose quartz, it's a very bright and festive stone

Great masks! I have one question though- how on earth do you get the edges to stay curled like that? I can tool leather, but I've always had a hard time shaping it.

Thanks! And for curling the edges, I think it has to do with your method of drying the leather. I wet it completely (under the faucet until it's soaked) and then put it in the oven at low heat and shape it in stages as it gets drier. The edges are actually the easiest to shape with this method since they're the outer bits and thus dry faster.

AH, yeah you're right it was my method of drying it ;3 I'll try that sometime- thanks!

This is just so lovely. I love the soft pastel colors of spring on this quite stunning leather mask. Can't wait to see what you come with for the next 2 masks. I love wolves a lot. Best of luck.

I love the little blooms peeking from between the feathers. This is a definite palette change for you, but it's awesome to see I just love the layered quality of the feathers in these seasonal masks.

Absolutley amazing ^^ This is definitley a spring mask, it brings to mind a bush in bloom or newly grown foliage...Or that could just be the pictures on it xD But your masks are so cool <3

Winter's going to be a bit of a challenge since she doesn't have a bird form (she's the mother of the three daughters). I do tend to associate her with white wolves, though, so perhaps I'll make a mask along that vein for her.

That could work. Or maybe a snowflake, but with the bottom branch missing to make room for the mouth?
