Download to read, pleaseMy entry for and 's contest for their comic Off-White. Its supposed to be about how two of the main characters met.
I've been working on this nearly non-stop for 9 days... so I'm so tired right now I can't think straight. I'm fairly sure there are some wonky things I need to fix, but I'll do that when I can think straight... Never done a comic before... X_x Entry didn't have to be a comic, but I wanted a challenge.
NO REFERENCES USED.... aside from a few comic pages for marking reference on the characters...

This is really nice. Good quality of artwork.. but did you follow the standard comic setup? Because I can't figure out how to read this (aka: what comes first)

Yea, well, I'd never done something like this before and had no idea how to indicate the order of panels, or in the case of the middle two (with the black wolf trying not to fall off the cliff, etc) that the order didn't really matter as they happened really at the same time.

That came out really nice! Much better than my drawing. I still have problems with drawing non-profile canine heads.

Cute introductory story, and nice first shot for a comic. Some of the text around the middle of the page is a bit difficult to figure out the order, but overall, the piece looks good.

Yeah, I can understand. It definitely takes some playing around, especially when you're working with a more complex layout like yours.

This is the most convincing enrty I have seen - it really does appear as a way the two characters could have met

Thanks! I tried to imagine two real wolves and how they would have reacted to one another. They wouldn't be naturally friendly at first, even if they were two loners, and I'm not a real believer in love at first sight (and I didn't want to show them meeting and suddenly deciding to become mates in one page, didn't make sense to me)

It doesn't to me either - which is what has been bugging me with a lot of the sumbissions. Not that they aren't good (plenty are nicely done!) but I thought they went a bit fast ^^

It's well done, but it's kind of hard to gather what comes first there in the middle when the second wolf is added in, gets straightened out at the end though.

Yea, other than drawing arrows between those frames I couldn't figure a way to show the sequence, though between the frame where the black wolf avoids the cliff and the grey wolf enters the sequence isn't really relevent, as the two events could happen at the same time, or very close to it. XD

well arrows would work, or even maybe little wolf paws to fit with the theme?
