Description
A soldier with his lady before he goes overspace/overseas. I started this painting thinking about the days before I went to Iraq. I was single back then but I can imagine the other amount of soldiers with wives and children having to spend their last days with them before they depart.Here is something quite quick before I submit more time consumed paintings. I need to practice more on my speedies since I usually loose track of time sometimes with details. I have to say, the female character took me forever to get things right, esepcially the face :/ Which I still do not like but I just had to get it out of the way so I can work on my other unfinished paintings.
This took about 2-3 hours. PS CS3. Cintiq.

Two soldiers in love being shipped to different places to fight an enemy they probably don't want to fight. Will at least they have a good reason to try to make it back alive

it took you 2-3 hours?! Wow, this would have taken me a hundred years to do (and it would have never looked as good as yours).
Great job! This picture honestly looks really sad. And I read your description, it is sad when loved ones get departed. I can remember when my favorite cousin would leave when he was in the army around 2002, and I was too young to really know where he was going.

Great work! I was gonna say it would be a more complete theme if the two were holding hands, but it actually adds to the feeling of being close mentally/emotionally yet physically distant. Almost made me say ahwwwww out loud, fucker. LOL good job.
