Description
This is one of two fast, ink sketches I'm submitting today. I don't work in ink often and am not very good at it, but I'm proud of these two. This is probably a 2- or 3-minute drawing, and I think the gestural quality adds to it.I think the thumbnail (the one on the hand, not jpg thumbnail...) is too darkly outlined. It jumps out at you. Ah, well.
The writing at the bottom is in Russian.

I experimented with inks in this kinda way before... I wasn't too good at creating shadows and depth, because I'm too much of a pencil and charcoal person.. always smudging and pulling the stuff around.
You apperantly though had little trouble knowing where to put the lines, and how dense to make them. made just the right darkness where it was needed, and didn't make it blocky or too basic. Good job overall, I think. Made a nice somewhat soft, curvy, lively object from (what I think is) a rough sharp media.
