Actually, I never quite got that either (even though, I admit, I photoshop that--but only using his actual chest!) I don't really know what it is exactly, but I admit, it's eye-candy to me lol but still!

Both Thor movies, there's the point where I just go "Fanservice..." Yeah, we all know Chris is buff. And those pants couldn't possibly be any lower without giving the film a higher rating!
