Thanks for the feedback and the fav. Β You're right about the screens showing the info that he's downloading. Wow, this is such a cool and interesting idea, I love the way you've blended the sci-fi and traditional elements. The colouring is fantastic too - especially the way the primary colours are reflected throughout the picture, and how the shading brings out the shapes of the face and cyborg arms!

wow, that's interesting! Is there a story behind this character? Looks like he's getting the information from the texts of the computers through his hair, isn't it? Cool concept, and I love the whole composition

Wolfberry-J In reply to helakiv [2014-01-11 01:27:41 +0000 UTC]

You're very perceptive. You pretty much guessed the whole story behind the image. ^_^ The inspiration behind the concept came from the medieval libraries of Timbuktu, Mali:Β wolfberrystudio.blogspot.com/2… . Β The libraries had come under threat of discussion a year or so ago. world.time.com/2013/01/28/mali… . l thought it would be nice if people could conveniently download those manuscripts into their brains so that the info never gets lost. ^_^

The first link does not work :s
I find it terrible that people try to destroy ancient knowledge, and you are right, it would be great to get all this information inside our heads so it doesn't get lost.
I remember long time ago I read a Spanish book about a girl who had to memorize a whole book because it was going to be banned... I don't remember all details, but I remember that she associated each chapter or paragraph of the book with different parts of her house, so it was easier for her to remember. It was pretty interesting, it's a shame I can't remember the title or the author of the book

Wolfberry-J In reply to helakiv [2014-01-12 22:28:19 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like a fascinating story! Β Was it historical fiction? Β If you ever remember the author/title, please let me know.

Here's the first link again: Β wolfberrystudio.blogspot.com/2…

Yeap, I'll let you know if I find out! I've looked everywhere on google but I can't find it... I'll ask my friends.
I'm not sure if it was fiction at all, for I read it too many years ago and my memory is quite bad. But I'm sure that the story takes place in a real period of history.

Oh, this link...I already read that in the description of the image you posted. It's really interesting!

helakiv In reply to Wolfberry-J [2014-01-15 16:20:59 +0000 UTC]

I've found it!!!! The book is called "The memory house" (in Spanish it's "La casa de la memoria"). The author of the book is LucΓa Graves. I read it in Spanish, but I see that there is an English translation.
Here you can find the synopsis: www.florin.com/authors/lucia-m…
I hope you can read it; it's really interesting
