The stoic monarch of the Inhumans royal family is the man known as Blackbolt. Born the prince of the Inhumans, Blackagar Boltagon (no, seriously, that's his name) like all Inhumans, had no natural superpowers. But when he came of age, he was subjected to a chemical catalyst called Terrigen to trigger a mutation his genetic heritage gave him the potential for. (Kids: don't expose yourselves to exotic gasses to gain superpowers). Unfortunately for he and his parents, Blackagar's power was deadly.⁣

He became one of the most powerful Inhumans, with his power laying in his vocal chords. A single word spoken by the can atomize mountains, perhaps planets. His mind has vast psionic powers capable of weaponizing electrons....unfortunately, this ability is tied to the speech centers of his brain. His first words after undergoing a Terrigenesis instantly killed his parents. Yikes.⁣

Unable to temper his powers, Blackbolt has to remain voluntarily mute. Having a deep connection with his wife, Queen of the Inhumans, Medusa, he has her act as his voice in official matters, "interpreting" his edicts. Man, you really gotta trust your spouse for that!⁣⁣

Also far stronger and faster than the average Inhuman, Blackbolt is an intimidating opponent for anyone that faces him, even without his devastating voice. ⁣
