Description And now, the redheaded stepchildren of the Marvel Universe: The Inhumans! Both an isolated, outcast society of beings in the MU, as well as outcast characters in the wider narrative of that fictional world, the Inhumans have long struggled to find their place. Whether it be their world or the hearts of fans. But, folks, don't feel too bad....they're still classic Jack Kirby created characters, and their lack of popularity may be their own dang fault.⁣

A little preface:⁣

The alien Kree Empire, upon discovering the cosmic titans known as The Celestials, had long taken an interest in the genetics of the people of Earth, likewise decided to investigate humans. The Kree, as a result of their millennia long war with the shape-changing Skrull race, had begun to stagnate evolutionarily. They hoped by experimenting on humans, they might help find a solution to avoid that fate. But also, they hoped to create weapons out of mankind. They were jerky galactic warmongers, after all. ⁣

And so, thousands of years ago, the Kree genetically altered groups of humans, creating an offshoot of humanity that came to known, appropriately, as the Inhumans.⁣

Creating an advanced society in their ciry of Attilan, the Inhumans segregated themselves from the rest of the world. Through selective breeding, they gained greater strength, longevity, and intelligence than us regular, boring human rabble. ⁣

They also developed the Terrigen Process. By exposing select members of their race to a special gas, they gain unpredictable powers, abilities, and often new and monstrous physical forms. Because comicbook reasons.⁣

And you can't have a society with rulers, apparently. So let's meet the Inhuman Royal Family, around which most Inhuman yarns center....⁣
