I was just thinking the other day, if they won't renew the series, wouldn't it be cool if either Sci-Fi or the Cartoon Network were willing to air it as an animated series instead? The Simpsons, Family Guy, Tripping the Rift, South Park, the popularity of anime, and the shows of Adult Swim are all proof that animation doesn't have to be geared for children!

Plus animation can pull off things that would be hard or expensive to do in live-action. They could have more non-humanoid aliens! Most of the main actors on the show, if not all, have had voice-over experience already. The actors would have more free time for other projects, and could record their lines *anywhere* if necessary, yet could still work in the studio together if they wished. They wouldn't have to do dangerous stunts anymore. They could come to work in their PJs, which is a plus I hear many full-time voice-actors touting. And if any of the actors decided they didn't want to do it anymore, they could find another voice actor instead of writing out the character!

So this was just me playing around with what they might look like if MGM got a decent studio to animate it. Granted, most Saturday-morning fare would have to be much simpler than this, I got a bit too detailed for run-of-the-mill animation.
