My new baby male yellowbelly arrived from BHB Reptiles. He's quite pretty, much lighter in color than Slinky who I believe is a normal. Draco ate well, just 2 days after enduring the stress of shipping.Related content

You got another ball python!! Won't be long now before you have more snakes than me! And he's a beautiful boy. So what was it like to have a snake arrive in the mail. I've never shipped anything before and I've never received any live animals in the mail. Let me know if you want me to ship you one of my baby corns!

Yes. I have decided I want to breed the ball pythons. I want to start with albinos and ivories. So now I need a female yellowbelly and a male albino, at least to start. But I won't get anything else for a bit, because I way overspent this month. I ordered a bunch of books on breeding and genetics and the designer morphs. They were almost as expensive as the snakes. I'm hoping to put aside enough money to get my male albino for my birthday. And of course I have the reptile expo in May, so I'll see what they have there before I do anything else.
I'm still trying to decide if I want to try to breed my kingsnakes. I have time to decide on that though. I don't really want to try breeding them when they're too young. I also don't want to get overrun which I think could be really easy to do! I already need to invest in more caging!. So while I would love to take one of your babies, for now I think I have all I can handle. Until I get another rack. So I'll check back with you later, when my finances have recovered from my reptile insanity!

Yes, it's definitely very easy to get carried away and be overrun with little reptile babies! That's what happened to me this year with my Cresties...
I still have all 23 snakelings, but a wholesaler is supposed to buy 10 of them, so that will leave me with 13 (8 okeetee, 3 amber, 2 mystery morph). I just put up the ad on kijiji today for the okeetee babies. I'm going to work on selling them first. I want to hold onto the amber babies for a bit because I've never had amber babies before! And the 2 bright red mystery morph-I'm going to keep one to raise up (the fiesty one) and sell the other. So I definitely think I will have some left for you when you recover from your reptile spending spree.

Sounds good. I was REALLY bad this month. As you can tell with all my new animals. I'll have to be real good now to have any money for the show in May. I need to get serious with housing now, because my rack is full. I have empty tanks, but I'm still having trouble finding the lid clips. They seem to have started making these c shaped ones. But they don't hold the lids tight enough for snakes. The kind I used to use seem to be hard to come by for some reason. But I'm going to the herp society meeting and there's a pet store near there that I'm going to try. If I can find those, I'll be golden and can move Tango and Peaches into bigger tanks as soon as the tank furniture I ordered arrives. Then once I've given my checking account some time to recover we can put our heads together about your babies. Pick out a nice one for me.
