Description Josephus A Miller from the Expanse series by James S.A. Corey.

I only have one of the books left to read, but have also only seen one episode of the show. I kind of like Tom Jane as the character, but always imagined him as having more of a hang-dog, Tommy Lee Jones, kind of appearance. So here's how he looks in my head when I'm reading the books.

I like your version of Joe! I've just finished the first book, and I'm pretty sure at one point Holden even describes him as having a "sad basset hound" face. Which this guy certainly possesses. Nicely done.
Far as personal interpretations go, because of his Julie fixation, my mind kept mapping Joe onto Dante obsessing over/being haunted and guided by an imaginary Beatrice, so I keep imagining him as having a big, sad, droopy-yet-aquiline nose of the sort Dante gets painted as having.

Yeah. I was definitely thinking about that "basset hound face" line was I was working on the drawing. Once I realized that Tommy Lee Jones kind of has a basset hound face, it all made sense to me.

I can definitely see a Dante nose working as well. I really like the thought process there.

Well, I may just draw a Miller of my own at some point, possibly including Dante-nose. I'd better do it soon, before Thomas Jane's face encroaches on my mental image any further.
Anyhow, I'd love to see more of your interpretations of the Expanse characters.

Yeah. I think that's a really good interpretation of him!

I was originally planning on doing a line-up of the characters, but I think I am going to stagger them a bit. I'd really like to draw Bobbie and Chrisjen together. Those two are like a comedy duo.

Oh lordy, yes. They so are. I would be very keen to see that *is already envisioning a movie-poster-style picture of the two.

On a similar note, I'm endlessly amused at the notion of Havelock and Miller in a buddy-cop show.

I definitely recommend it. The first book took just a little while to fully grab my attention, but since then I have been burning through the series.
