I know what you mean , backgrounds sometimes can be a pain to render out; even worse if you want to keep it consistent with a character lineart (something I'm still working on myself)

But its all about practice really! If you check my tumblr, you'll see how poorly executed some BGs are. but hey! gotta make mistakes so you can learn from them!

If you want to get better at it, draw from reference environments and study some perspective (Fox-Orian's tutorials are a great material ).
You already seem to know color really well (This piece looks like an awesome screenshot from an animated series). I bet if you give it some practice you'll be making great Landscapes very soon.

Thanks for the advice. I know it all comes down to practice, I just haven't as much as I should . I prefer to draw characters, so I usually spend more time on that. I'll check out those tuts though. It's hard to find good ones.
