Oh yeah because smuggling illegal wildlife is totally cool. Let's lie about it! You do realize anybody can read this right?? You sound just like a certain other person on here..

Calm yourself. I was only kidding.
No need to take it so seriously.
Yes I understand it's a " serious" issue,
But it wasnt a serious statement.

Well I'm just saying that there are folks on here that do it and have done it and have said very similar statements.. So you might want to make it a point next time that you are kidding.

Next time I will use the lingo slang of " lol" or " jk" at the end of my comment. I honestly didn't mean to offend . However I have encountered some people over seas who wanted to buy pelts from me and they told me to Lables it as " fake fur" so it would go through customs. I, however didn't sell to them because I was afraid the package would be destroyed at customs.

Yeah whowever is telling you that....stay away from them. They need to understand such behavior is no better then what poachers do.

HELL NO.Β

i will not take part in illegal wildlife importing. I plan to run a business and i like taxidermy. i do not want to end up in jail cause i wanted a wolf pelt

NatsumeWolf In reply to FancyFoxTaxidermy [2014-02-26 04:31:22 +0000 UTC]

I don't know if you can actually go to jail for that.
The most you'd get is a fine.
The only thing I can see someone going to jail for is bringing
native wild like as pets to different countries.

Our wolves do not have cites as not falling under the convention.

Speckled-Feather-UK In reply to WoroTax [2014-02-25 21:00:28 +0000 UTC]

Doesn't matter if the country you are importing to classifies them as CITES sadly. Β Not sure how it works our end if you do not have CITES papers but we still need to get import permission via document for them to enter the country. Β Badgers are also CITES in Britain

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

WoroTax In reply to Speckled-Feather-UK [2014-02-25 21:07:50 +0000 UTC]

I can get, no question. For this I need to have a written contract with the buyer, which will state its data. Plus, CITES is issued for 6 months and during this time I have to get paid for the goods in full.

Speckled-Feather-UK In reply to waimole13 [2014-02-25 21:01:46 +0000 UTC]

Not endangered as such just protected. Β European wolves aren't CITES but our customs doesn't consider that as its simply a wolf entering the country and could be from anywhere, hence why you need permission and prove where its from

waimole13 In reply to Speckled-Feather-UK [2014-02-25 21:05:31 +0000 UTC]

that sounds like a pain in the ass haha! have you ever bought a cites species ? I do really want a wolf lol

Speckled-Feather-UK In reply to waimole13 [2014-02-25 21:10:43 +0000 UTC]

Not of yet but I know how to. Β Just the inspection fees and the cost of it putting me off. Β Its a pain but doableΒ

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

waimole13 In reply to Speckled-Feather-UK [2014-02-25 21:24:42 +0000 UTC]

ohh how much would the inspection fee be? and everything else that is needed? 400 quid(just checked the currency)for a wolf is not bad haha

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Speckled-Feather-UK In reply to waimole13 [2014-02-25 21:27:02 +0000 UTC]

From America? Β Inspection fees are American and its $300 per box (flat cost no matter how many animals in parcel)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

waimole13 In reply to Speckled-Feather-UK [2014-02-25 21:30:31 +0000 UTC]

oh yh I was talking to a custom broker before and she did say its around 300$ for the inspection fee and what about if its from europe? Even she told me not to get any cites species.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Speckled-Feather-UK In reply to waimole13 [2014-02-25 21:34:40 +0000 UTC]

Europe doesn't have an inspection fee but you still need to register with DEFRA and British import anything that is entering the country that is listed as CITES. Β For example, European wolves and badgers are not CITES but Britain classifies the European badger and Wolf as CITES species; and as its damn hard to tell whether a wolf is American or Mongolian, or if a badger came from Somerset or Poland; you see the difficulty

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

waimole13 In reply to Speckled-Feather-UK [2014-02-25 21:38:12 +0000 UTC]

ah man......lol I think the whole procedure would do my head in. I wish there was a easier way to identify where they came from. Like a barcode lol. Β What about coywolfs out of curiosity since its a hybrid?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Speckled-Feather-UK In reply to waimole13 [2014-02-25 21:39:59 +0000 UTC]

Again kind of depends whether it is classified as a coyote or a wolf. Β I have had coyotes in that look 'wolfy' and possibly had wolf blood but still classified as coyotes. Β Its unsteady ground like what we discussed with coydogs
