Steller's Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus pelagicus, orel vychodni kamcatsky) from ZOO Brno, Czech republic

This year, pair of Brno's eagles managed to rise their first baby. This guy did not like, when I came too close to him, as it was having lunch close to the fence. When I got too close, it started making angry sounds, so I rather left, respecting its privacy

Name: Steller's Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus pelagicus)
Location: Kamchatka, Eastern Asia
Size: 105 cm long body, 230 cm wingspan weight: 6 kg (male), 9 kg (female)
Diet: maily fish, but also birds and mammals
Conservation status: Vulnerable
Interesting facts: one of the heaviest and largest bird of prey in the world | this eagle is monogamous | adult birds are top predators, no animal prey on them | female usually lays 1-3 eggs of white-green colour |
