Description No comments on dolphin captivity, please.
Especially not from Cove and Blackfish experts.
As a person who studied this issue for years + have heart many opinion from both sides + having university education, I am quite able to make my own opinion and I simply support modern facilities which keep marine mammals.
Deal with that.

A true blue indeed. I hope you receive far fewer of those misguide comments. I'm so glad that there are great modern facilities for dolphins and other animals. I must ask, what is your opinion of hunting?

I am torn apart you know, when they hunt animals for food - what's the difference between a doe and a dolphin?
I love dolphins a lot, but I can imagine for some people (especialy some tribes) they are important source of meat.
Then they should kill dolphins as quickly as possibly. Although I really admire those animals and hunting makes me sad...

As for hunting for captivity, I am glad it is forbidden.
Dolphins do VERY well in human care and they breed like crazy, so the zoo population is stable.
What is in fact needed, are new and modern facilities, so dolphins are living high quality lives. Which is something activits fight againts

I found the issue of hunting needing a lot of balancing too. There's no quick fix that solves all problems. I've seen plenty of game and fish programs that managed it very well by educated people and it has proven to be effective for conservation while others have backfired. As much as I love and admire animals they still are a source of food, clothing, and more for many people. If any animal is to be utilized, it must be killed quickly and humanely to prevent suffering. I'm glad that wonderful programs exist that allow populations to recover and grow. I don't hunt but support it.

It is a creature in a zoological park, like so many others. It is protected from the normal hazards of life in the wild, can expect regular meals and superior medical care. So we mere humans an look upon and marvel at our so-distant cousins...
