Description
Drawn in October 2013, my sophomore year of college, this isn't nearly as beautiful as the actual bird I drew, but I love how lifelike the little guy looks. I believe it was also my first experimentation with actual drawing pencils instead of my little math one. It looked a little empty with just the bird and flower, but I didn't want to clutter up the background around him, so I went with a close-up shot of the hummingbird and merely tacked on a vine and a hibiscus in the corners. It still feels empty, but at the time I didn't want to butcher it.

As with the rest, this is on a larger 9x12 paper, bristol. So it's missing a rest and doesn't fit in the scanner of this self-taught amateur with limited resources.
