Maxim is warm-hearted and caring to everyone around him, always joking around and living optimistically. (Think Hakuna Matata.) He has the mind of an artist - creative, expressive and ever eager to take in new ideas. However, Maxim's strength is also his downfall. He constantly expresses his idealistic views in the form of art and uses it as a means to escape the hardships of real life. Because of this, there are many gaps in his memory where he has virtually brainwashed himself with happier thoughts (memory repression, a psychological defence mechanism). His fear of facing emotional obstacles proves to be his greatest weakness. Unfortunately, he is a tad stubborn about overcoming this.

Biography: Crap, this turned out longer than intended xAx...sorry!

Prior to joining Shields, Maxim lived in a close-knit refugee community situated in England. Anything that happened before that is mostly a blur to him, but he has never really cared enough to want to learn more about his origins. Fragments of memories do come back to him from time to time though...and from what he has gathered, he knows this much:

- At a very young age, Maxim made the conscious choice of leaving behind a sickly couple in order to pursue the ideal nomadic life and eventually seek refuge in a more civilised area. He recalls it being a difficult choice, but one he quickly overcame. Whether or not he had a companion is not clear, but to this day he still feels an emptiness in his chest from being painfully separated with someone dear to him. It is quite possible that he was so devastated that he simply refused to think about it in order to protect his sanity.

- He spent the tender years of his childhood living with a small group of nomads that provided him with a caring and family-oriented environment. They lived on the bright side of life and took every chance to express their happiness and inner desires through music, dance and visual art. It was during this time that Maxim was introduced to the wonders of drawing. With his newfound abstract perspective and passion for art, he was able to escape the harshities of reality and live in his dreams' creations.

- However, life was not always fun and games. Lives were undoubtedly lost along the way, including those of the elderly nomads whom he considered family. Sadly, he cannot remember any of their names. When he closes his eyes though, he can still see their wizened faces smiling at him. ;u;

There seems to be a massive timeskip in his memory bank, but he somehow managed to travel across the body of water separating Germany and the UK. Whatever the case, he soon found his place in a refugee camp in the outskirts of England. For Maxim, this was where most everything began. Life in the large refugee camp was good and almost free of worry. Although he only stayed there for just over a year, he felt as though he'd been a part of the community all his life.

Thanks to a certain Rossi family, extra aid from the more fortunate parts of town was regularly fed into the camp. The Rossi twin daughters visited weekly to lend a hand where it was needed and gave out extra food. Although the family was not actually particularly wealthy, they did all they could to help those in need. Their small acts of kindness touched the hearts of many, including that of Maxim. He spent a lot of time with Alice Rossi ( Maria's twin) during her visits and slowly grew a fondness for her. Much to Maria's dismay, Alice seemed to return his feelings.

Unfortunately, war eventually ate its way into their region. It took the lives of many, including that of Alice and the Rossi parents. Maria was left depressed, alone and without a home. Learning of the incident, Maxim gave Maria a place to stay in the refugee camp. It was the least he could do after everything the Rossis had done for the community.

Maxim managed to retain a reasonably calm exterior about the loss. On the inside though, he was distraught. He went through a long period of denial...denial that his friend really was gone. How could they take away someone so giving, so loving, so beautiful? Impossible! He spent a countless number of days...weeks...months even, trying to portray the overwhelming emotions on paper. Even after Maria had found her purpose in life and had left to join the Shields organisation, Maxim was still beating himself up over the fact that he couldn't get over Alice's passing.

It wasn't until about a year later did he realise it was no use forgetting Alice like he did for every other important person in his life. He decided to embrace every moment he was privileged to have with her and let her live on in memory. Following Maria's example, he sought out Shields in the hopes that he might lead a more meaningful life and maybe...just maybe...Alice's dream of a better world might come true.

Likes: Any form of art, organised mess, food.

Dislikes: Peanuts (allergic), nit-picky people, when someone can't take a joke.

Extra stuff:

- He has a massive appetite.

- He was born blonde. His hair grew increasingly darker throughout his childhood.

- His electricity magic abilities are only a recent discovery about himself, so what he can do with the magic is extremely limited. He cannot create anything more than a spark at this stage.

- He has a special dog tag he's worn around his neck all his life. Unfortunately, part of it looks like it has been forcibly broken off - possibly a desperate measure to trade the scrap metal for a small amount of food. What's left of it provides him with his first name, the letter E, his year of birth and birthplace. That is the identity he has gone by for as long as he can remember.

- Not all of his memories were lost due to self repression. I will say only this much ;3

- I advise you to think twice if he offers you a handshake! 8'D
