You did the bleeding tutorial I asked for!
I can`t wait to try this!
I do have some trouble with buckling, will spraying water at the back of the paper help without ruining its performance?

huzzah! yes, spraying the back along with the front will curb buckling because the paper fibers will be drying at the same time buckling won't really ruin the performance of the bleeding, it will just sometimes make pigment pool in places instead of naturally flowing around, it's not a terrible thing, but it can make the paper ripple more and thus you'll have to weight it down and gesso the back to cause it to lie flat afterward

Which kind of watercolors do you find work best: the kind that come in a tube (like in your tutorial), or the kind that come in the tins and are dry blocks of pigment? I've only ever used the latter, but was considering changing to the tubes.

tube watercolors tend to have a tad more saturated pigment in them than the bricks, however, that also has to do with brands. student grade watercolors are usually lacking the extra punch of color unfortunately (and i found that out in a big way lol) so if you can afford studio or artists grade watercolors, it's am investment that you won't regret!

Yay! Thanks for the tips; I'll have to check the art store for some studio grade paints.

I don't do watercolors since I mostly do digital art. Also because I shy away from it since I'm horrible at traditional painting. But this has inspired me to try it out.

give it a try! you'll have a lot of fun! a lot of the apprehension comes from worrying about ruining it, but in all truth, wherever the water goes is where the pigment will go, and it really can be controlled, you just have to get comfortable with allowing the paint to do what it does ^ ^
