Description
Early on in the American Revolution (known in this universe as the New Britannia Uprising), the Canadians joined the fight against Great Britain. They formed their own nation known as the United States of Canada. However instead of shortening the war, it prolonged it as diplomacy between the two rebel states soured. The war lasted another 5 years before the Battle of Newfoundland ended the war in British surrender. The Canadians did not forget their former American comrades who had been fighting the war on their front. They had all the land of the 13 original colonies granted to the USA, along with much of the land they wanted westward. The Louisiana Purchase still occurred with the land primarily going to the Americans (now Anglo-Americans) but the far northwestern land going to Canada. Following purchases from Mexico, Canada expanded south as well. Giving support to France, and helping generate a more peaceful French Revolution, they ensured the French stayed a large major power in Europe. When Gran Columbia was created in the south, Canada actively traded and helped stabilize the new nation. They also helped Mexico and Brazil reform to their governments. When WWI came around, Canada fought with the Triple Entente. When WWII ignited, Canadians fought at first on the side of the Axis Powers, switching to the Allies after the Final Solution (enacted in 1940 in this Universe) occurred.

The Canadian government is different from that of the Anglo-Americans, which is one of the things that led to the end of their alliance during the war. They have a democratic constitutional monarchy. In essence it's a constitutional monarchy where if either the monarch goes against the constitution or if the people, and thus the legislature by a 2/3 vote, want a new family to rule, they vote on which politically powerful family they want in power.

The flag of the USC is based off the flag design originally suggested by the British King, edited by adding elements used in the original USA flag used during the war. 6 Vertical bars, 4 red and 2 white, are for bloodshed and peace, with the "rivers of blood being blocked by the flow of peace". The blue is for the clear waters all around, and there is one star for every state in their union.
