Description Following the British surrender to the Canadians, the USA was granted the land of the 13 Colonies as well as land westward. However, following this immediate granting of freedom and power, the USA, operating under the Articles of Confederacy, fell apart. The assassination of Congressional President John Jay during the war had left the country weak, and as no successor was chosen before the war ended, the USA was without leadership. It collapsed. While Americans still feared a too strong government, they realized a weak one wouldn't work either. However, unlike in our timeline, this fear of weakness was stronger and a powerful federal government movement swept the failing country. This movement stepped in and brought back stabilization to the region. The Constitution of the Federation was drafted, being stricter in terms of law than in our universe, and with more powers going to the government. In responses a more expansive, intricate, and defined Bill of Rights was created as well. With its first President Alexander Hamilton, Vice President Thomas Jefferson, and Chief Commander George Washington, the Federation of Anglo-American States was organized. Natives were moved much earlier, but were moved to lands in Canada and to western states that were actually as expansive as promised, leading to less conflict. Slavery was outlawed, but with indentured servitude, of all races, being allowed. Blacks and Natives were granted several semi-autonomous zones (registered as states, and thus had to still follow federal law) and this allowed for a more peaceful transition, though racism and "separate-but-equal" Jim Crow laws were still in place in the white states. During WWI the FAAS fought with the Entente. In WWII, Anglo-America fought with the Allies near from the start of the war.

Anglo-America, unlike the name might suggest, is not a white supremacist state. Anglo-America became the name of the region and became a term for all who lived in the area (like how "America" is a name for the New World, but became a name for the United States). Their people are surprisingly tight-knit (possibly from the well regulated rights they're granted). While there is some dissent among the blacks in the, as they have been dubbed, "Afro-American states", and the Natives in their states, it couldn't possibly amount to anything. Right?

The extended fighting in the revolution led to the loss of Coastal New York and Manhattan. The area west of it began to be referred to as Saratoga (after the fort) once it came under rebel control. This led to there being 14 original states in the Union with New York and Saratoga being separate.

The flag of the FAAS is similar to our own but has the seal of country placed in the canton with stars only for the original 14 states (with Saratoga added) shown. I got the idea for this from how a more federal ideology with the states having less power and not caring for having much power, would mean they wouldn't care about having a star added for each state. The representation of the government (the seal), and their original founding and history (the 14 stars) would be more important to them.

*EDIT*: Made it so the Natives now have their own states as well.
