Biography

History

Nerissa was the first of five, and grew up helping her parents and grandma take care of their rambunctious and lovable bunch. Their kind, elderly Nanna took them all under her wing constantly, delighting in teaching them everything she knew. From her they gained their love of cooking, baking, crafts, and taking care of plants. They were a very active family, constantly outside hiking or having picnics in the fields and forests around their town. Around their fun family activities, they helped out on the family farm and went to the small school in the area. After making it through school with decent passing grades, Neri moved on to working in a local plant nursery in her spare time.

The couple who owned said nursery introduced Neri to homemade cosmetics and bath goodies. She was taught how to dry flowers and herbs, and even how to make fragrant oils out of the plants as well. They let her borrow books on aromatherapy and gave her all of their contacts for equipment and supplies so she could make her own.

As she got older and her younger siblings started going off to college and seeking to further their schooling, Neri noticed that her still living at home was putting a strain on her family’s financial situation. Knowing that they would never ask her to leave or bring it up, Neri took matters into her own hands. She looked up cheap housing both inland and on the island chains that weren’t terribly far from home. Settling on one from Raccolto, she put her life savings into it and packed her belongings up. After promising her folks and Nanna that she would visit as often as possible, she set off, excited over her future prospects on her own.
