Mel has been a ball of energy from the get go. There’s nothing she can’t accomplish when she accompanies her energy with her work ethic. She is always determined to get as many crops planted and growing as she possibly can to help with her tribe. Her energy also allows her to be one of the most caring mother hens out there. She likes to make sure everyone has what they need when they need it. On top of being a mother hen, she is also very neat and tidy. She keeps her living space as spotless as possible, and is extremely neat when it comes to planting crops in rows.
The short woman is also a very determined and proud creature, taking great joy when something she was working on goes right. She can be known for bragging extensively over particularly large crops. Her determination to do her job perfectly involves repeatedly practicing Sunny Day and Rain Dance on the fields to make sure the crops are at appropriate levels of water and sun intake. When she’s not obsessing over crops or whether someone hasn’t eaten today, she also loves skipping around the camp in a fit of whimsy.
As a downside...Mel can be seen as very childish. This doesn’t help anyone see her as an adult, especially when accompanied with her short stature. She’s extremely clumsy and can trip over air, which is why she tries to float to move around. Her motor mouth can definitely get her in trouble, as sometimes she doesn’t know when to hush. The woman can be extremely well intentioned, but not all of her good intentions can go through smoothly.
Weapon: Bow and arrow. Her moveset.
History:
On a cold morning in the season of Winter, an older couple was struggling. They were farmers for the Terra tribe, and this season was taking its toll on them and their crops. The two of them were fearful that their tribe may not be able to survive on what meager vegetables were growing in the hard soil. Being older and far more vocal with the gods in the final stages of their lives, they had prayed day in and day out for some sort of miracle. That morning, their prayers were answered. As they rose and stretched to relieve their stiff joints, they could hear singing coming from their fields. Going outside and hastening to their plots, they could see a small pink figure dancing through the rows in a clumsy manner. Above her head was a perfectly portable miniature sun. They slowly came to realize it was a small Mew and she was using Sunny Day to revive the earth. She noticed them watching her and came toddling over, a bright grin on her face. “Mommy, Daddy!” she called to them, pudgy little hands up in the air, begging to be picked up. All the Mew knew was that these were her parents, and that she was a budding two years old.
They adopted the small Mew, taking her as the gods answering their prayers, and the rest of the children from the elderly couple accepted her without question. Not wanting her to feel out of place, their parents asked that no one ever mention that she was adopted. She was named Melody, after the song she sang to help their crops. As she grew, her proficiency with the crops was made very apparent...as was her gentle, yet mischievous nature. One moment she was calm and contrite, tending to the crops with her parents, the next she was overturning a bucket of mud on someone’s head from a tree. Her fellow villagers tolerated these shenanigans, but there were whispers behind her back of a spiteful nature. Why didn’t the gods send a more maturely natured legendary, someone with the wisdom and beauty that was always spoken of?
Not liking the jabs to her appearance, Melody was determined to prove them wrong. She took up archery, tailing after the hunters as well as the other farmers, begging to be taught. The small Mew was like a sponge, absorbing whatever knowledge she didn’t already have via instinct. Soon, when she wasn’t under her father’s wing learning how to become a farmer, she was using a small bow and arrow to hit targets. As she grew, she also began to grow into the vision of what a legendary should be. Maturity-wise...not so much. Now a budding seventeen year old, she went through her naming ceremony with pride, accepting her place amongst the farmers. She was quite ready to continue her training as well, mayhaps she could take up a second job as a warrior or a hunter too!
But her dreams would have to be put on hold. A mere six months after her naming ceremony, both of her parents passed away within a few hours of each other. After mourning with her siblings, she set herself up in their parent’s old hut and threw herself into farming. Her plan changed, instead of becoming something more, she would now fill the tribe’s high expectations from losing two farmers. After much praying to Celebi, she resigned herself to her duties. Though she took great joy in watching plantlife grow, it still felt like something was missing.
Now, many years later, she has fully matured and is a happily functioning being. She hasn’t grown out of any of her childlike natures, and is still clumsy to boot. As she’s grown older and somewhat matured, she feels like now maybe she can find the time to take up another job and help the tribe out more...only time will tell.
