Description
A Project 3030 Mammoth is a Confederacy of Democratic Terran Republics super heavy terrestrial air defense cruiser escorted by a S-2200 multipurpose mobile launch platform.

The craft is over 100m long and primarily armed with a pair particle Disruptor Arc turrets. Arc Disruptors are a special type of particle beam weapon that when fired out, has lightning like energy arcs spread out from its main beam that actively seek areas of high molecular density allowing the weapon to potentially take out multiple targets.

In addition to this the Mammoth is also armed with four heavy laser emitters and a pair of 203 mm mass drivers along with a few smaller point defense turrets and missile launchers.

The craft is also equipped with extremely powerful E-Barriers capable of withstanding the most powerful artillery barrages as while as extremely thick deck armor.

The vehicle even has a workshop in its rear which can be used to repair tanks and other vehicles.

Terrestrial air defense cruisers were first conceived by humanity in the late 0100s PF (Pre-FTL) or 21st century CE as mobile directed energy weapon platforms designed to shoot down high altitude aircraft and ballistic missiles.

Although promising these early platforms were promising the rather primitive technology they were designed with they had a few problems. First was the primitive tracks used to propel them were hard to maintain and made the massive vehicles quite slow. Secondly, the lack of E-Barriers made them vulnerable to cheap drone spam and with space based weapons becaming more common it quickly became apparent that the age of ground armies was coming to a end.

The age of orbital bombardment would last for around 400 years until the invention of planetary shielding technology. With terrestrial forces regaining their importance development of air defense land cruisers returned and with gravity manipulation and E-Barrier technology now more common, these oversized SPAAGs suddenly became a lot more variable.

The effect of land cruisers on the battlefield cannot be understated, with their ability to swat long range missiles, artillery shells, and high altitude aircraft out of the air with relatively ease and low cost, aircraft were forced to fly at lower altitudes making them more vulnerable to lighter anti air weapons, greatly reducing their role in modern warfare.
