Description
As you might (not) know, they're working on a new Unreal Tournament game. I've been following the news since the announce and visit their forum daily.
I started playing UT when 2k3 came out, playing DM/CTF/BR most of the time. A year later I started playing 2k4.
Played just about any mode in 2k4 and I still regularly switch servers to play ons, ictf, tam. Just having some fun during the weekends.
(Yes, still playing this and only this game for the last 10 years.)
Since Epic asked the community to join them creating this new game (programming and art wise), I thought I might as well participate.
I've always been secretly hoping this chance would come.
I've been into logo design for quite some time. And since the chance is finally here..
--
Everything starts with a nice positive/negative logo. (black/white - white/black)
I'm not a huge fan of the eye-candy most people throw in, as it greatly influences/disturbs the perception of the logo (which should look perfect in a basic "state").
But since I couldn't resist, I added a 3D version at the end
--
Basically all letters were customized. There are a few critical letters 'R+E' & 'T+O', but that can be fixed with fontlab I guess; if a font were to be made.
Although I'd personally prefer silver letters, I also added a gold one.
Well, it's not 100% gold. I think I should render it differently to achieve a better effect.

I added the picture on the fourth row to give you an idea of how the logo works as a watermark.
Even without the 'U' symbol (word mark only) it works well! (That picture is copyright Epic btw, only used it as an example)
Just a little something on the 'U' symbol. If you look carefully the left "leg" of the 'U' looks like a 'T', so the symbol might as well be 'UT'.
Must admit, this was not intentional. I just focussed on creating a smooth symbol. A simplified version whilst keeping the overall Unreal-look.
Well, I hope you like it.
