Production Notes

DB-6, code named "Tempest" by the Third Alliance nations, is considered the first successful humanoid fighter of the Greater Russian Confederacy. Famed for it's ease of production and compact design, this terrorwalk not only served as the backbone of the resurrected Red Army, but also of that of Russia's satellite states and many Third World countries.

The DB-6 features a design similar in many ways to early Heliadonian assault walkers, a reflection of the Confederacy's secret trades with the Martian colonies. It is characterized by a stout torso, a juxtaposed cockpit, and legs modelled after Earth-based terrorwalks. DB-6 is armored with the relatively cheap steel-ceramic composite, and is powered by a hydrogen engine of shorter operational time in comparison to its contemporaries.

Despite the fact that it stands at only a little less than 8 meters, the DB-6 Tempest is equipped with a lethal array of weaponry. Superimposed on the shoulders are two eight-barreled missile launchers, capable of launching SSMs and/or SAMs of the appropriate caliber. It's main gun meanwhile, is the rather outdated A-41 120 mm smoothbore assault cannon — it is indeed powerful with its 120 mm bore, but then suffers from a low rate of fire. Lastly, to combat infantry, the DB-6 is armed with a 20 mm minigun. A standard DB-6 lacks a melee weapon. It has been, however, reported that a large chainsaw has been developed to suit the need of hacking through obstacles.

DB-6 Tempest may not be the most powerful terrorwalk around, but with its proven reliability, low cost, and capability to be produced in very large numbers, it has proven itself an adversary one should think of twice before engaging.

Side Notes
-The designation DB stands for Dvunogiy Bronya, which means bipedal armor in Russian. I think.
-The Greater Russian Confederacy is basically a fictional country which occupies roughly the area of modern Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. It is a Neocommunist state, and is a parallel of the Soviet Union in my universe (not to worry, I'll try my best not to tread the same path as FMP)

One more mech colored, yay! I'm sorry if it looks kinda bland. It's just that I'm not really good at this. Feel free to blurt out anything you want to say concerning this pic guys. Comments, critiques and multiple colony drops are highly appreciated.

The chest reminds me of the Destroid Spartan from Macross (reused as the Archer in Battletech).

Never seen Macross yet but I'm surprised they're very similar.

Maybe you have already though-- The first Macross series was dubbed and renamed Robotech (the first season).

Neither. But I'm familiar with both series and how Robotech is a compilation of Macross and two other anime in a single storyline.

Hahahah, it's better than that, at least aesthetically. It reminds me of the good ol' Zaku II, the grunty look.

A Zaku II? Why thanks, that's quite a compliment. This one's actually inspired by FMP's Savage.

It looks far more versatile, though. Like a Zaku!

I guess. But it's best deployed in large teams with air, anti-air and infantry support whereas a Zaku can be a stand alone MS.

But, every grunt gets its magic by working in teams, even the Zaku, don't you think so?

Yep, the power of combined arms, which is pretty standard in my mecha universe.
