More info
He can make ink come to life, though this is limited to a short range around the ink and on the paper. The more concentration and time he puts into it, the more vivid it gets.
He tends to keep his magic private, usually only using it to enjoy the scenery described inside poems.
Personality
「 Polite | Gentle 」
He will always speak politely towards others, no matter their age or status. His formal speech and actions may make him seem passive aggressive when paired with his often-tactless words, but he doesn’t do it on purpose.
As a writer, he values the delicate parts of life and tends to notice small details. However, much of his sensitive side is never outwardly expressed, and while he is inclined to listening to other’s troubles, he will rarely offer help or comfort.
「 Calm | Collected 」
It is uncommon for him to become overly emotional; he can remain composed when under pressure, and he adapts quickly to surprises... on the surface at least. Most of what he says when he is backed into a corner is a bluff or quickly thought up logic.
When it comes to interactions, his words may come out feeling cold and insensitive, as he thinks sugar-coating the truth is pointless. He is not inconsiderate enough to openly share his thoughts though, and will only tell you his opinion if asked directly.
He does not prefer to get involved with outside conflicts, often choosing to stand neutral.
「 Cynical | Prideful | Conniving 」
Overall, he views the world with distrust. While he is willing to interact with others, he does not place any faith in them.
He does not see anything wrong with his isolation though, and actually has a large amount of pride when it comes to his solitude lifestyle. Despite his indifference towards others’ fights, he is quick to pick one of his own if provoked or insulted.
Deep inside, he is more than willing to plot the downfall of those he dislikes, particularly those in high power. He has no restraint when it comes to using others for his gain, and is manipulative whenever the opportunity is given. Of course, since most of his plans are unreasonably risky, he rarely acts upon them unless there is a high chance of success.

History
Although born in Korea, Shou’s memories of his birthland and family are a blur. Instead, his childhood is filled with travels through Asia with a tall man he called "Master." He never learned the man’s true name, and likewise, Master didn’t call him by any name besides “kid.”
Master served as Shou’s teacher, teaching him each country’s language and each region's specialties as they traveled, and Shou’s love for literature and culture grew with each new town they visited.
Once he reached adolescence, he was left at a school in China, where he spent most of his teenage life. It was also then that he first coined his pen name -- at that time, it was the name he went by as Master had never given him one -- and wrote his first works.
By the time he had reached adulthood, he had risen in fame enough to earn recognition from the emperor. While the lavish lifestyle of a court official was appealing at first, Shou soon found that the lie and deceit hidden under palace life was not for him. The few years he spent there caused him to become wary of others, growing into the competitive and skeptical person he now is. Life in the palace is also where he learned formality, to the point where it became an unconscious habit.
In spite of his success, he eventually grew tired of the busy life under the emperor of China, choosing to run away to a quieter land where no one knew him. Traveling across the ocean to the small islands of Japan after changing his name, he found himself in Mizuyama, a peaceful area where he now lives quietly alone at his own pace.
Unknown to others, Shou earns most of his money off of his remaining fame as an author in China. Because he does not want to be bothered (along with possibly a hidden desire to live more modestly), he only publishes smaller, more private works within Japan.
Extras
Appearance:
-Wavy black-blue hair
-Black eyes
-Rarely smiles, gets annoyed easily
Fun Facts:
-Fluent in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese.
-Math? What is math? He's hopeless at it.
-Skilled in politics, a skill that will never be used in such a small village (haha)
-Although he tries to hide it, he will show noticeable discomfort and annoyance when around touchy or overly persistent people.
-He is only able to fly for a short period of time.
-He knows self defense from his traveling days. Even though he would never win in a straight up fight, it is enough to catch unsuspecting or hasty people off guard.
-He tends to specialize in novellas and short stories.
-He keeps a collection of poems he has written, but they are strictly never to be published. He's actually terrible at writing poems.
-Most of his stories revolve around the delicacy of fleeting love and are romance novels. The contrast between his personality and writings tends to surprise people, which is another reason why he hides behind a pen name.
