Besides in dance, Kasu rarely imposes his own opinions upon others, and instead follows the suggestions of others. He gives off the impression of being amiable, if not a little too docile. Politeness and obedience are not quite an act, but rather how he prefers to live -- under the shoes of someone else, as long as they don't bore him. Masochistic by nature, he would rather be pushed around than take initiative, though this opinion flips occasionally under playful circumstances.

Whimsical and childish is probably the best way to describe him. At times, he seems contradictory, fluctuating from energetic friendliness to cold detachment depending on his mood. Up until middle school, Kasu had average grades and a small group of people he’d call friends. Beside his daily dance lessons, there was never anything he really took seriously.

Boredom eventually bred to a dangerous search for change.

He began distancing himself from others -- not physically, but mentally. Whether it was his friends or the classmate next door, Kasu found himself more interested in observing their ways of life, and in the school, there was one person in particular that caught his eye.
She was an eccentric transfer student that immediately caught the attention of the school. To Kasu, she was bright and unique, his way out of boredom; to several others, she was a threat to their normal way of life, and thus hated.

After several months of bullying, the girl died.
No, not suicide, but rather something much more common.
She had, like so many others, broken under pressure and conformed to the social norms of the town, losing the spark that had attracted Kasu in the first place.

And in Kasu’s eyes, that may as well have been dead.

But he wasn’t disappointed, instead having found his area of interest in what most categorized into a mix of sociology and psychology. It wasn’t the end result that intrigued him, but rather the process. He wanted to watch others rise and fall, and perhaps experience it himself as well.

Not quite warm enough, the numerous song birds that usually graced the courtyard had not yet returned from their escape of the harsh winter, and thus the garden was left in an empty tranquility.
