Backstory
Othala was born in a pack full of her closest relatives. She was the last offspring of her parents, who were aged adults when she came to this world. Because of her parents' age, she was the only child of that litter and she appeared quite weak. Giselle wasn't strong enough both physically and mentally to raise another pup, so she gave that responsibility to her two older daughters - Lorianna and Ivarron.
Othala made up for her weak condition with her acuity. She was not only wise but cunning enough to find a way out of troubles. Learning how to hunt wasn't a problem since her light body allowed her to follow any prey noiselessly. Her sisters taught her well and she was able to hunt by herself at the end of her adolescence. And at the same age, Othala felt a hunger for knowledge about the world surrounding her. She was constantly fleeing from her pack's main camp to explore the land. Until she accidentally met a male a bit older than her. He frightened her with his black fur and big posture. But turned out more friendly that she would've guessed. His name was Vachir, and it was a matter of time until those two fell in love with each other. They were arranging secret meetings for a couple of months.
Once Othala reached the age of a young adult, she decided to leave her birth pack and search for a place to live alongside Vachir. They were traveling for long until one night, the male disappeared, leaving Othala alone and heartbroken in the middle of nowhere. The poor girl sought him everywhere for months, getting lost many times. One winter, she was found nearly frozen to death by an Alpha female of a peaceful pack. Othala stayed there until summer, gathering her strengths and making some friends and acquaintances. Then, she moved forward to find her long lost mate.
Each day she was getting more depressed. She began to regret the decision of leaving her family. Yet she got used to living on a trail, she even taught herself how to recognize direction based on the vegetation and stars. She was chased and attacked often by other wolves, especially females, though she stayed civil with males thanks to her looks. And again, her pretty face guaranteed her survival. She trespassed the territory of the Lotrurg's Crew and was found by some scouts, who then escorted her to their captain. Luckily for her, the ruler of the crew found her attractive enough to make her his mate. And Othala agreed, knowing that she might gain food and place to live without much effort.
