Description
The Dakem region is far too vast for any one professor! Therefore, A Board was founded, consisting of individuals from all corners of Dakem, who each specialize in a different facet of the pokemon world!

The Board of Professors consists of these individuals:
Prescott Cedar (center, in the brown trenchcoat)
Marie Aspen (to Prescott's right, dark brown hair)
Derek Cedar ( on Prescott's left, auburn hair and beard)
Robert Poplar (seated, green hair)
Flora Laurel (short, orange hair)
Hawthorne Pine (dark skin, blue hair)
Mimi Acacia (far right, pink hair)
and intern Paige Willows (far left, blonde)

Prescott Cedar:
Professor Prescott Cedar has been the top mind on pokemon for decades in the Dakem region. In the past, he was really the only professor, handling every task in every field. In more recent years, the Dakem region has grown tumultuously! Breakthroughs in technology, and a greater understanding of every aspect of pokemon had lead Prof. Prescott to bring in more experts to assist him in his studies, especially those that relate to our relationships with pokemon. With these new experts in place, vetted and trained by Prescott, and able to shoulder the burden of research, knowledge and discovery, Prescott has been able to retire, However he still remains Chairman of the Board. In his retirement, he has pursued the very thing that had sparked his interest in pokemon since his childhood: his fascination with Legendary pokemon! His fascination was only exacerbated by the creation of the Boundary, and the magic of Legendary pokemon that was involved. He travels the land in search of them, hoping to even catch a glimpse. He wonders how they differ so much from regular pokemon, and how they are able to effect the course of the world so drastically!

Marie Aspen:
Professor Marie Aspen was formerly known as Marie Cedar, and is Prescott's eldest child. Since the rise of the Boundary, Marie has been the Principal Professor of East Dakem. Researching from her field base in Cornerstone City, she is perfectly placed to pursue her main field of study: Pokemon and Human history, specifically, how pokemon have been affected by humans, and how they react to and recover from wars and battles. There is plenty of case material in this field, as Dakem was once a region torn by warfare caused by Teams Lightning and Thunder, and the police who tried to stop them. Marie studies battlefields, testing the ecology and wild pokemon behavior in these areas, and how the massive energies of these battles have a long lasting effect on the nature around it.
In addition, Marie is also in charge of providing aspiring trainers with a pokedex and their starter pokemon. In Cornerstone City, trainers can choose between Mosstre, the grass-type; Swimbasin, the water-type whale; and Sparker, the fire-type dragon, who was chosen by Marie's own daughter Ally.

Derek Cedar:
Prescott's son and Marie's younger brother, Derek has completed the family tradition of becoming a professor! Like his sister, Derek has become a leading pokemon researcher. However, what Marie does in the East, Derek does in West Dakem. From his modern lab in Morton City, Derek starts beginning trainers on their journey with their choice of the grass elephant, Shrubbely; the fire dino, Paraze; and the water dolphin, Dolphluff.
Derek's main focus of study also deals with the relationships of humans and pokemon, but in regards to technology. Not only in how expanding cities and transportation effect pokemon habitats, but in how advances in the making of pokeballs, and the operations of pokemon centers, the harnessing of pokemon energy, etc, can be mutually beneficial to humans and pokemon!

Robert Poplar:
Professor Poplar has gained renown for his extensive study of pokemon in the field. He is the only member of the Board who will actually spend nights in the wild in order to naturally study pokemon. He is a very large man, towering over his peers, and is also unmatched in strength. After all, in the wilderness, all you have to rely on is your own strength, endurance, and resourcefulness.
Many people are wary of Robert at first because he is so physically intimidating, but they soon find that once you get to know him, the size of his heart is equal to the size of his muscles, and that he is both gentle and intelligent enough to care for even the smallest and weakest pokemon. Actually, his field of study is pokemon breeding and conservation, and his lab can be found at the conservatory and hatchery in Toningston City in East Dakem. There, he not only handles extremely delicate eggs and baby pokemon, but also searches out and works to protect rare or threatened pokemon species.

Flora Laurel:
Professor Flora hails from Burleigh City in West Dakem. She has gained quite a notable reputation for having founded a new method of pokemon evolution! It is a method that is only known to effect a few certain pokemon species. Flora even coined this new method as 'Contrary Evolution.' This method is rare because it can only work when two biologically similar species level up together under certain environmental conditions, or with a certain item as a catalyst. These two species can then evolve by trading features, characteristics, or even typing with each other, contrary to normal evolution. She accidentally discovered this by raising her Caterpie and Venonat simultaneously. Flora is a middle aged woman who can act immaturely sometimes, and she can easily become distracted or fascinated by simple things.

Hawthorne Pine:
Hawthorne is a very young man hailing from Vahona Island In East Dakem. He is a prodigy, who graduated from the Pokemon University at the top of his class at only age 13! His brilliant mind is perfectly suited to the professorship however, his androgynous appearance, combined with his youth, style of clothing, and reserved attitude aren't, which can lead to awkward first impressions, and people may not understand him or take him seriously. Hawthorne's studies and education focus on pokemon anatomy and physiology, and he is currently pursuing a doctorate in pokemon medicine!
Hawthorne loves to encounter different types and elements of pokemon, and how they move and attack. He has his own team of diverse pokemon, and will challenge prospective trainers to both test their skills and to encounter and study new pokemon.

Mimi Acacia:
Professor Mimi Acacia is perhaps the most famous member of the Board. She is often seen alongside the Royal family of Dakem, as she serves as advisor to the King, keeping him updated on intelligence or discoveries by her or her peers. Her permanent residence and laboratory is actually situated in a wing of Avalon Castle, in the capital city. Researching there, she has made many discoveries about pokemon who were re-classified into the new Light and Sound elements. She collaborates with other professors from around the world to study every existing pokemon with these updated types. Many consider Mimi to be beautiful; she is tall and slender, with long flowing hair. She wears the luxurious clothing typically seen in the King's court, and she has an intelligence and extrovert personality to match. She despises getting dirty, and it is unknown if she has any pokemon of her own.

Paige Willows:
When Paige isn't serving as the fifth Gym Leader of West Dakem, she interns for the Board of Professors. Yes, she does a lot of the menial assistant tech duties, but she also accompanies the Professors' on important missions or projects, and with her insight and extensive knowledge, she has proven detrimental to many important discoveries made all over the Dakem region! Her eagerness and tenacity is unmatched, and it shows in both her studies and in her battlework at her gym. She specializes in bug-types, fascinated in them for their diversity. In fact, her main focus of study is pokemon biodiversity. Paige is very petite, with blonde hair and glasses. With her small stature comes an even smaller personality, as she is reserved and shy. Some say that she comes off as aloof and uncaring, but it is usually just because she is lost in thought or in a book!
