Unbelievable! Is it you or a Mangaka who did that?^.^However, i have many things to tell ya. First of all, i think the concept of fireflies is really original and i d'ont find them that ugly, pretty beautiful in fact. Also, you did a great job with everything in the drawing, i c'ant find what you tell was ''really bad''. Let me also tell you something, Relax...it's not like we were going to kill you if the drawing was bad(which is not the case). You know, i think You're worried too much about something you're perfect, i'm talking about: Drawing Manga. I'll tell the truth, you did something many fails and you managed to succed: invent a style proper to you and you also perfected it! There nothing to worrie about, no one would ever leave bad comments about your drawing or if yes, they would know nothing to Drawing. Whoa, quite a long comment there! I hope i leaved you an helpful comment! Continue like that, i'll always be watching you!^.^ D'ont get discouraged and you will be able to accomplish great things, perseverance is the key!

Eeeee! I can really see the effort in this one, the quality is awesome You have such gorgeous line control! But if you want to improve, your character ought to be really doing something or "telling a story" in some other fashion

As unoriginal as it is, its still wonderful.

my really nit picky self points out the following things:

theres a pencil line on her neck, and the shadings a little off around that area.

next i point out that: the firefly on her uppper hair clip is weird..

and I know you dont care about the background, but Im nit picky and weird so...

the grass is really long, its more like a field, so you couldve made that hay

Woww this is so awesome rini-chan!
I lovelovelove the details on the moon and her kimono and the glowyness is really charming!
The only things I can critique on is that the shading on her makes it look like there is a light coming from somewhere else not in the picture. Like a house light coming through the door or window or a flashlight or ... something I dunno o_o. And I agree on the sky being a little flat. But otherwise its so beautiful!

Your art gets better with every piece you do!

Hey Stan, 'tis green, and I just felt I must say, as I haven't commented on any of your work in ages, that this is freaking amazing. You have gotten so good since I first started watching your stuff, it's not true. [well, obviously, it is true, but it seems untrue.. it's a figure of speech] It's beautiful, and I love the Kimono and the hair and the grass and the moon and the shading and the whole lot. So. I thought you should know. I've been looking at all your submitions, but never have enough to say.. I've come to appreciate anime more though. Which is a good thing, I suppose. and yes *sigh* anime is a good thing too.

the only thing i would say is... if the moon is on that side.. why are there shadows there?
shouldnt it be on the otherside?
... unless there's secret light coming out somewhere O_o;;

just add a bit more shadows in the kimono as well ( altho that's kinna hard considering all the details on it O_o; )

Well, the only thing that erks me is the skin shading on the neck/chest looks rushed; it doesn't match with the softness on the face and hand. Her kinomoto is BEAUTIFUL! Great picture overall.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee riniiiiii!!!!~~ this is such a pretty picture O0O i love the moon!!!!! can i practice crits too...... .___. nyeh......even though i only have a few things to say....well her kimono is really pretty O0O

the overall mood of the pic is very peaceful and it makeseth me happy C: i agree with vick on the ear thing, and also if you added like.....ear...lines?! wel i dunno what to call them, but maybe add a little more detail to the ears so that they don't look like flaps of skin > < i really like the grass. v___v hehe oh yeah and for the clouds, i dunno if you were trying for a coolio stylized thing cuz they look awesome all circle-y!~ one more thing...um if the moon is on the right side wouldn't the shading on her face be on the left...? i dunno i'm really bad with lighting....i just thought that the light side would be on the same side as the moon <_< >_>

Practice crits? Ohkay. xDDD BUT Eee it looks SOOO AWESOME OMGGG I LOVE NIGHT SCENES. THE PICTURE IS SOO PRETTYYY. And fireflies. xDD "Hotaru" xDDDD;; *LOSER* I loveee the moon. I agree with Vick that the sky looksa little flat, you could put some varying shades color into it before you put the moon and clouds in ^^ But otherwise the background is sooo nice. I love the tall grasses. Night shading is soooo hard X_x I tried to do it before xD;; Didn't work...

Haha I like the pattern on her kimono ^^ So pretty! I think the obi should be moved a little down, because it looks like her boobs are being pushed up... X___x I DIDN'T JUST SAY THAT. I really like the color of the kimono though. I haven't used a dark navy like that in a long time *_* AND HER HAND IS CUTE. *random* I love the shading on the hair! It's so strandy-y and detailed~ And the clips xD *___*

I know this is a little like personal preference but I think the picture is a little still. Maybe if you added a wind or something it would make it look less static ^^

I guess in order to be eligible to leave a comment i've gotta find something to critique (not an easy task, by the way...) ><
First off, you're WAY too hard on yourself...personally, I think its a totally beautiful pic. And if its a bit of a cliche, well thats only because it's worked well before and it'll keep on working well.

one small thing though...it kinda seems like her hand comes out of nowhere...I dunno, I guess the sleeve blends with the rest of her shirt or something

either way, better than anything I could dream of making

hehe i'm gonna practice for our total crit spree, so here goes (even though i think this is uberly amazing and you are the most SUPERDEEDUPER ARTIST EVERRRR <333):

i know you said not to crit for the bg, but i will anyway bc i'm a butt like that XD it looks so pretty!! I HEART THE MOON!?!?! the only thing i'd say is that the sky itself looks a little flat, and there sure are a ton of fireflies...what if one like....flies into her ear.........Oo;;; EW. my dad's an ear doctor and he said once this lady had this like DEADBUGINHEREAR NASTIFYING?!?!?!??!

speaking of ears, her left one is a little high up compared to the right. also, you might wanna add more shading on the.......obi. thing. yeah that thing. the middle thing! whatever!!! it looks kinda like a cylinder Oo;;
