It's really different, which I was I like it. The use of color very much powers the emotion in the characters face. Plus, I love the soft shading and use of texture on this piece.

Wow. Simply wow.
I had to pause and stare when I saw this pop up in my deviations. I am just utterly floored by this. I don't even know where to start.
I guess my first thought when I saw this was: damn does this ever convey sheer despair. It's borderine anguish, now that I think of it, and I think that can be attributed to the bold colours. There's something about them that's very extreme. I also think this has to do with Kage looking upwards with an expression of what looks like grief; he looks almost powerless and at someones mercy.
Overall, I'm impressed with the initial and lasting impression this picture has, the gentle blending of intense colours, and the anatomically well-done portrait.

The color was mostly experimental, but I'm glad it was so successful in conveying the mood. Good contrast is something I often fail to achieve.
