Awh this is adorable, I also think they have a tadpole stage.
Although in my headcanon, their horn thingies are remnants of external gills

Yes, most likely you're right! It is highly likely, if they really are such stages of development)

tanuki-kage In reply to Yanarada [2012-06-20 18:57:49 +0000 UTC]
Stages of development? xD
Some tadpoles have external gills, and some don't. It depends on the species of amphibian we're talking about. 83 Frog tadpoles don't usually have external gills, but salamander tadpoles often do.

Yeah...might want to clarify with that. I mean it's one thing if someone made salarian tad pole or something but the pose is just too close for my tastes, just in a different style sure.

Not what i meant, its just interesting to see influence of your picture.I just remember that she leaved a squeal comment,if it was she of course.

Oh, here you are talking about. Looked at your version, great! But this is not a new idea, it is written in the code of amphibian eggs and selective fertilization, it is logical to assume that development will be such, and further stages of the formation of hands and feet will look like.

Anyways i doubt that alien code will be the same like ours.Anyways,i said that before, but topic is irrelevant. No need to make a pointless discussion.

If she left a comment on it then you're the influence...and you should at least be called out as the inspiration for it. Either way it's cute.

I really like this idea...Salarian's are Amphibian, so yeah if they still follow the natural cycle the baby stage is in water
Plus that's really cute!

tanuki-kage In reply to Metamorphicacosplay [2012-06-19 22:01:18 +0000 UTC]
Actually, there are some amphibians that don't have a tadpole stage. xD

Metamorphicacosplay In reply to tanuki-kage [2012-06-21 16:23:42 +0000 UTC]
There are salamanders that stay in the young stage - the axolotl is one.

tanuki-kage In reply to Metamorphicacosplay [2012-06-21 19:19:32 +0000 UTC]
Ah, those are paedomorphic. No, there are some salamanders that have gills in their larval stage and lose them when they get to their adult stage.
