The Ramos Ock design doesn't bother me. I think it is quite awsome though the reason for that is probably because I watch alot of Japanese anime. At least I don't mind it if people make fun of this version of Otto. Many of his old-school fans were probably pretty peeved with this change.

What bothered me more than the appearance change was the way he was written- as for his appearance, I just feel guilty for thinking that such a tacky design looks cool. XP I mean, trenchcoat? Flowing, greasy black hair? It's like he was attacked by a passing Hot Topic or something.

I blame Ramos for making me like this version by exploiting my weakness for guys with long hair. >.<

I like guys with long, well-groomed hair. Not a long greasy rag that's been dyed with boot-black. He looks like a redneck goth.

The problem with goths is that fat and black leather don't look good together.

He's discovered that Ock's secret weakness is that he gets really, really pissed off when you start making fun of his appearance... unfortunately, he usually also beats the snot out of you when you do this.

Ha ha. Gothmobile. Goths are a load of fun to make fun of. Them and their eternal darkness. Your comics are always fun.

I've never played eternal darkness, but i'll take your word for that. Goths don't totally suck...they're always good for a laugh. I actually saw the real JTHM the other day walking around my school. He gave me a good chuckle.

is JTSG the geek who was the johnny wanna be? And no, he was the real deal. He even had his hair cut the right way. I almost pushed him down a flight of stairs. But then I thought that would be too gothy. So I kicked him in the nuts instead.

It was supposed to stand for "Johnny The Stupid Geek", actually. He sounds like he deserved to be kicked in the nuts.

Well I can't understand all your abbreviations, smartypants. And besides, I know when most people need a kick in the nuts, which is most of the time. It's a gift I guess

*LOL* That's great. I don't know why... But I like the fact that Doc Ock calls Spidey a retard. It's just so out of character that it makes it hilarious. Also... I like Spiderman's eyeball expressions. XD

The artist's aversion to drawing lips on his characters was what bugged me the most; Octopus has always had a very expressive mouth to make up for the fact that his eyes are hidden by the goggles/sunglasses/Moe haircut, and he only ever looked "menacing" or "pissed off" in Countdown. Even at the end the only way you could tell that he was upset was because he somehow managed to overcome his lack of a mouth to put on the second-biggest moue in the history of the western world.
I wonder how many cattle it took to make that coat, anyways.

I was just waiting for him to rip his shirt off and start brachiating. Or maybe grab Mary Jane and climb up the Empire State Building with her in his tentacles.

The chest-beating or the Mary Jane abduction? I think he did both.
