Description This appears in the same issue as my previous (sequential) deviation. Unfortunately I didn't use Maya on this page, only Photoshop. I'm happy with how this page turned out considering that this was the second last page, and I was rushing towards the end.

my classmate commented on how i could've used "layers" of snow on panel 1 to create that third dimension look and I agree with him. Similar to panel 2 which has 3 layers of snow. Unfortunately by that time, the page had already been submitted to DevilsDue and there was nothing I could do. So I'll leave the page as it appears in the comic. Any other crits are more than welcome.

This page I experimented on reflection (in the window, axe) and also with artificial lighting. I don't usually put this MUCH effort into my pages but I really like how the pencils turned out so I decided to go a little crazy.

The hard work on this page really paid off because the little reflections and tiny details are what make it stand out as awesome.

I thought it was a great series. Have you done any other work with devilsdue? And as for the arashikage avatar I plan on getting that tattoo in the next few months. Whenever the money comes in.

sweet, that tattoo would be just awesome

actually no, master and apprentice was my first ever issue for devil's due. they asked if i wanted to color another series (gi joe v.s. transformers) when i was done, but i had other work to complete and i unfortunately declined.

You had some really good work in there. Gi Joe vs Transformers would have been alot of fun to do. It's too bad you didn't have the time to take it on.

Dank you!! X3

LOL it's really a lot of practice. You should've seen my colors when I first started out. I almost got fired from my job at one point I think cause they were so inappropriate.

There's no way I'm ever going to show those to the public BTW. No need to ask XD

LOL no panel! XD I'm ashamed of my older pieces. Hehe

*AHHH* scream with you

When you get to your third page of flats, you'll regret ever saying that you want to flat.

Nice work Things are very well lit - though that might also be a comic book nature (not having to guess what you're looking at). I feel an itch to make my own speech bubbles.. that'd take too much time though

yanimator In reply to mikkow [2005-07-01 02:19:06 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Haha you sure do have a thing with speech bubbles!

Yeah, speech bubble is an art on it's own. I have no idea how to do them effectively and it'll probably take me a long time to lay them out. LOL If you do make them, write something silly or totally out of place. I'd love to see something serious turn into comedy.

When I color, I sometimes get bored and I'd try to imagine what's going on in the scene by just looking at the drawing, and I can usually think of some ridiculous topic/conversations.
