Description I don't know if Heinz ever owned any GMC COE's, if they did, they likely would have been white, but since I'm running this little show, red it is! GMC started builting their famed COE (Cab Over Engine) in the late 1930's till late 1950's, a pretty good run. The Cannonballs were built for over the trucking. Their round bulldog looks were surprisingly streamlined compared to other trucks of their era.

Adobe Illustrator CS & CS4, Apple G4 & 27" G5 iMac. OSX Tiger & Snow Leopard.

Thanks! I just recently found a photo of a Heinz delivery truck in the Heinz archives of a Chevrolet COE that I'm going to do a illustration of too, it's white with a red 57 logo on the door.

what is the smaller version of that look? I saw one similar like that & was a lowrider. It looked grotesquely cool.

They made pickup trucks, I think they were also called COE's. You're right, they are grotesquely cool!

Wow! this is beautiful! just a look at the headlamps and the rear view mirror reveals the attention to detail. I like the rear container too, it's silver finish reminds me of aircrafts.

My favorite truck is the Mercedes L Series. The ones which had SL like grills and were very round. I wish you make one.

yankeedog In reply to AtholTheDestroyer [2010-05-29 13:01:35 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! The 50s did have some style, when you think of the 50s the 57 Chevy Belair, the Nomad, the Corvette... It was a era of cool design and let's not forget the wing cars of the late 50s.

I gotta admit, though, that those flat-front visored Freightliners are one of my very favourites.
