Description
I decided to do something softer other than characters or freaky stuff. so wanted to bake something
Its making-of can be found in 3DArtist magazine issue 41
.Ingredients: Maya for preparing oven, ZBrush for mixing and coloring ingredients, mental ray for baking and photoshop for decorating and mixing the passes. done with mouse!

wow, first I thought it was a real cake, so when I read the description I was totally blown away, this look so real, and very nice work on the texture are amazing, really great work.

Ok. Amazing. Just like a photograph indeed. I thought: "I can't ask this question, everyone must ask it." Then I looked through all the existing comments... no one has asked it. This looks like an awful lot of work so when you were done did you sit back (sweat dripping from your brow; I imagine) and wish you had just bought the ingredients and baked the thing?

--I do of course appreciate that this construct remains a flexible, modifiable and stupendous model that in so many ways is far superior to any photo you could then only 'Photoshop'.
This is very nearly perfect; I do however get the sense of there being something unusual about the lighting/shadow on the peach below the mint leaf --I am sorry; I can't quite put my finger on it, but maybe the the lower leaf is too bright? something... but it's subtle. The result is almost better (from an advertising point of view) because it captivates the eye while your brain tries to work out if it's a photograph or not: this could be a very useful form of subliminal entrapment. Especially as it is centered in the image. I find myself looking (and commenting on it) at length. Well done.

Oh wow, thanks a bunch for the through review. actually it didn't really take me a long time to complete it, maybe 2-3 weeks. but yeah through out the whole process i wished it could be really on my desk so i could grab some energy by eating it, lol.
