"CHARLOTTE STREET, ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA."
Sent from HPL June 23rd, 1934
"Greetings from the oldest city in the United States -- founded by the Spanish in 1565, ceded to the British in 1763, ceded back to Spain 1783, sold to U.S. in 1821 . . . . . The subtropical climate braces me up like a tonic - I shall hate to return north!"

My parents went there on vacation every autumn for years and years. They'd stay a few days in Virginia, then travel to Charleston, stay about a week and then make their way down to St. Augustine and just chill there, enjoying the town and the clement weather.

Hahaha! yeah I doubt they'd ever heard of him! Well maybe my father had, he enjoyed old monster movies, and he used to read me Poe when I was a child. I think they were just really into travelling to places with lots of colonial history. They hardly ever came out west for anything.
