History

He was born an illegitimate son to a young maid working for a well-known warlord that impregnated her. Before even he was born, his father's clan tried to kill his mother in order to prevent him from returning upon adulthood to claim his birthright. The fledgling maid, barely out of her teens, fled northwards towards the icy wastelands and to the frozen shores facing the bitter cold seas. There, she boarded a ship as a maid and bore a raven child too similar to the warlord that promised to marry her. She died during childbirth, leaving the nestling to the care under the most notorious pirate clans that terrorized the seas. *The Sasaki Clan.* The raven nestling, named Karasuma Taira after his father, grew robust and mischievous alongside the owl pirates. He had a close bond with Enju, whom was brought inland due to secret reasons. Being away from his adoptive brother made Taira decide to confront his blood father and challenged him to a duel.
Through the skills and swordplay he was taught by the Sasaki clan, he disgraced his own father, ultimately taking the Karasuma name for himself and forcing his father to commit seppuku as he watched. It gave him considerable relief, seeing it as avenging his embittered mother at last. He turned his sights westwards as a ronin, renting out his services to reputable warlords and moving on to continually hone his skills. At the same time, he is trying to look for his adoptive brother, whom he came upon in Mizuyama.

EXTRAS

- was a pirate in his late teens; he once worked with Enju's group/family.
-he has tiny, tiny black wings. He can flap them and move them around, but they're not strong enough for true flight.
- he is quick with his swordplay, and pretty much accurate about his strokes. Very proud of it.
