Soooooooo for those who wanted to color this, here it is. I uploaded the psd, so hit download to get it.

I am thinking of having a contest involving the coloring of this picture while I'm working on a HUGE tutorial for how I color using this picture. Anyone interested? All I can really offer for a prize is free commissions. I'll make an official announcement soon after my current commission queue is empty.

Anywho, those who watch me now have the opportunity to get a head start on those who don't, so have at and have fun.

Little bit of backstory:

The other night, *Icymasamune asked me if he could be a magical girl when he grew up, I responded that if he was going to be a magical girl, then I wanted to be his studly love interest. So now you have Magical Pirate Queen Icy and her sidekick Seymore the Rat (who has a french accent) and the ever-dashing Ensign Nyt featured in the following picture:

I was... to say the least, unhappy with the results of that picture, and went about making a splash page in true Shoujo fashion. For those who don't know me very well, I am a HUGE unspoken fan of Shoujo and romance/magic girl stories in general.

Those who have stepped into one of my livestreams will hear, and possibly seen me in the practice of "start close and work out" where I start with a MUCH smaller canvas that what I end up with. This particular picture started focusing specifically on Nyt, Icy and Seymore, spanning left to right from Icy's feet to Seymore's tail and top to bottom from the tops of their heads to Nyt's waist. The actual canvas size is well over three thousand pixels across and more than six thousand high. The psd version here is 2000 pixels across and the preview is a standard 1024 pixels wide, so that'll give you an idea of what went on on my computer.

So the splash page turned into a manga cover and took a grand total of four days to ink while helping out with reception duties. Somehow people talked me into adding additional characters. I suppose I'm a pushover.

SO! In this picture we have Magical Pirate Queen Icy, or just Miss Icy. When she is raiding villages and hamlets she is often referred to and introduces herself as "The Pirate Queen". Her rat, Seymore speaks with a horrible french accent and is always by her side as a sort of guardian and comic relief. Ensign Nyt is a person not many people are sure about. All that is known about him is that he often appears to help Miss Icy out of bad situations that she tends to fall into. Seymore is very wary of him, and doesn't trust the stranger, but that doesn't stop Miss Icy from accepting his help when it is offered. Another character that doesn't approve of the man is Click-in-the-shell, Miss Icy's sidekick who holds a secret crush on the heroine.

"Oka the Shark Wrestler" is a young lassie in the same service of Ensign Nyt (though no one knows who he is in the service of course due to the covering of the upper half of his face). Don't pass off her name as a clever title used to inspire fear; she literally wrestles sharks and it's how she was specifically picked by the higher-ups to be an officially sanctioned magic girl and is in competition with Miss Icy to dispatch of foes before the dastardly pirate can steal the credit and glory. She is also very interested in the Ensign Nyt and aims to discover his identity before she catches and sends Miss Icy to the gallows.

Of course, Miss Icy's biggest opposition is Inqky le Fae, a faerie drag queen of the deep adorned in jellyfish crowns is set on stealing and claiming the sacred "Ocean Stargazer", an elaborate gem of great power that gives the possessor incredible abilities and control over bodies of water. Inqky le Fae is assisted by his henchwoman, Cytopus, a would-be magic girl if not for the mis-guidance of her gender-confused lord.

In the first adventure of the Magical Miss Icy, suspicions are raised when a town on the coast suddenly suffers a horrible drought. Miss Icy recognizes the signs of the presence of the Phoenix Cap and must steal it to return peace and make sure that Inqky le Fae does not lay her hands on the magical artifact. It is her first encounter with Ensign Nyt, and rumors (not to mention heartbeats) are raised as to his origin and intentions.

All characters are not necessarily to reflect the people they're based on and many will have very large differences between themselves and their origins. All characters (except Seymore) featured in this art piece are gender-bent and based on real people.
