Update: Oops. My hand slipped.
lines for the LRFFXIII contest. uploading a larger version for you to look at before I submit the colored version (which will be much smaller, sad to say).
the idea was to keep her in a knight-like armor and combine the genres of epic fantasy with scifi (that Final Fantasy is known to do) and give the customized costume itself an additional theme. I went with a dragon because I decided to go with the first thing I could think of

I really like the detailing on this one. Something about the alternation between round-shapes and angular ones ties it together with a sort of motion - they draw the eye across all the sections of armor without the transitions being jarring.
Reminds me of a Medieval Samus Aran (with FireFall booty shorts). Plus, sharkdragonsaur sword is teh awesome.

I'm still not sure what you mean. This is Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. As far as I know, she's human. The theme of her customized armor is "dragon".

She has a floating helm on her forehead and bits of metal stuck to her face on either side of her eyes. They're not scales, just things I added to give more visual interest without having to draw a complete helmet.
