How to Install Custom Themes - A guide by neiio

You need your system to be patched first in order to install 3rd party visual styles for Windows (uxstyle or uxtheme patcher).

You can use the Theme Installer to install the theme afterwards:

Or manually move the theme to WindowsResources folder.
You can use Navigation Icons Customizer to edit the explorerframe:

Or manually edit WindowsSystem32explorerframe.dll with a resource editor (I use Restorator) to replace the matching resource bitmaps.

ZOMG THIS. This is what a skin should look like right here. How much would I have to donate to convince you to do a dark Bioshock-style W7 theme? There are only a handful of really unique, creative & awesome custom themes out there that are even worth using (at least I know of) and there's currently NOTHING remotely like that out there. o.O

You can change the wallpaper just like for the default theme, right click, set as wallpaper.
Or are you talking about some other themes of mine?

The theme is here, inside the Themes folder of the archive that can be downloaded at the right side of the screen.
You have to copy the contents of the themes folder to your \Windows\resources\themes folder, then double click on the theme file. But you first have to install uxstyle!

I did all that and i even retried it 3 times but every time i choose the theme it doesn't give me your theme it gives me you that Windows XP grey theme classic

It tends to happen when for some reason the uxtheme patch is faulty.
I suggest you try downloading Universal Theme Patcher in that case, restore the dll files, then either try installing UxStyle again, or just go with Universal Theme Patcher's patch instead.
One of the two ought to work.

Hey uh, I tried installing this particular theme on my windows but somehow the color scheme always keeps changing to the Windows 7 Basic color scheme format and makes the toolbar look like it's from windows 98.
Or how did you alter the toolbar to look like that, for it doesn't do so in the installers for some reason.
I did install the Uxstyle before attempting to get this theme running, but it constantly does that stuff it probably shouldn't be doing.

Yeah, I guess the error is with Uxstyle, that's what do the Windows classic style + color scheme instead of applying the theme.
You might be better off with Universal Theme Patcher in this case; try installing that (and patching the 3 system files with it), and applying the theme afterwards.

Well, did what you said. The toolbar is now in Aero style as before, but other then that it just looks like a normal windows toolbar.
Upon checking, it actually looks to be in Aero but the personalize page shows that the color palette is in Windows 7 basic again..

Cancel that, fixed it.
My "Windows Desktop manager" was off for some reason in my services.
Looks fine now. :3

I can port it to windows 8.1.1 easily, but have some bugs like the windows outside blur.

This theme didn't have a cursor included, that cursor was CursorXP, iirc its name is Aero station (or something like that).
