"Says who? I'VE trained with a member of the Justice League, AND I've faced the leader of War World and survived, THANKS to my training with Mr. Stewart. Don't you tell me that I have no field experience next to you, hot-head!"

I really should be working on something productive right now. Like finishing up the last two drabbles of my trade with Alex. Or working on my trade for Jinxy. Or finishing this sketch I've started for Zura's birthday gift.

So, it occurred to me after lurking around several of the Teen Titans groups that I often see a lot of OCxCanon couples where the OC and the canon are hugging/kissing/being lovey-dovey/acting slightly suggestive/talking together/holding hands/are just around one another being happy/etc. And while I always enjoy seeing the sweet side of an OCxCanon pairing, I always enjoy seeing the rougher aspects of development for the couple as well. And...I...I don't feel like I always see enough of that in the Teen Titans groups. (Not as much as I'd like to see, anyway.) So I figured I would break the mold just slightly and post this, partially to show my OCxCanon couple NOT being lovey-dovey and instead arguing, as well as give everyone a bit of a slight look ahead at how Nuriyah and Hot Spot shall meet in "Alien Starlight."
Aaaannd their first encounter does not go well. Nuriyah's usually quiet and reserved, even when she's taking flack from other people for any reason. However, that first fight with Mongul [being the verbose, irritating chatterbox jerkwad that he is] eventually prompts Nuriyah to argue back more often. And as she and Hot Spot are put on a mission together for the first time (and yes, as always, I blend canons, this time it involves both "Teen Titans" and "Young Justice", thanks to being able to work out some timeline stuff, so it's Nightwing that assigns them together,) Hot Spot makes it quite clear he's unhappy and doesn't want to "baby-sit." Eventually Nuriyah gets tired of his attitude, and the two get quite the initial rocky start with one another, bickering and fighting through most of what is supposed to be their stealth mission. But by the end of it, they manage to work together and eventually get the job Nightwing assigned them done, gaining a greater respect for one another. They become awkward friends who refuse to admit to having a crush on each other, and eventually that grows into something more.

But yeah, just figured I'd show them arguing, because I feel like I only ever display that fluffy sweet side of their relationship, and there's more to them than that.
