Description Believe it or not this was actually the second cover idea that I made for Jaune Arc's Pain. I personally planned to have another picture in place of this (hence the 2 in the title), and I have the unfinished first drawing in my sketchbook still waiting but I think it sucks so I am going to leave it woefully incomplete.

I personally really hate this piece that I did, I think it looks shoddy at best but well what can you do? *sigh*

Props to people who can guess who is who, well you have to read my story to know...

Drop a comment and/or review, thank you.

I think we all think that from time to time. It means your human. But as long as you always give something your best effort and I mean your very best it can't possibly be a waste of time.

Doesn't mean it's not true. A person must know a thousand failures before they know the value of a success. For example I was in wrestling during high school. First two years I sucked. I lost to everyone, but come the third year I got a win and after that I started winning more often. What I'm saying is, don't give up and try to believe in your self more.

Everyone is dealt a hand and everyone has the right to play their hand. We can't choose the cards were dealt, but true greatness depends on what you do with the cards your dealt.

supernobodyhome In reply to Yourarenotright [2014-02-25 06:22:29 +0000 UTC]

Of course I think you'll like this legend.

There were once two master sword smiths in Japan, Muramasa and Masamune. Muramasa, a student of Masamune's, one day confronted his teacher, and demanded a contest to see who's sword was mightier. The two worked day and night to create the best sword they had ever forged. Once completed, both swords were sent floating down a stream. Muramasa's sword cut through everything it came across; leaves, twigs, small animals, it did not matter; the sword cut down all in its path. Masamune's sword, however, did not cut a single thing. Originally, everyone thought that Muramasa had won, but a monk who had been observing the swords, explained that the muramasa sword was filled with blood-lust and evil, cutting down even the most innocent of things without regret, being just as happy to cut butterflies as severing heads. He went on to explain that the masamune sword did not cut needlessly, sparing that which is innocent and undeserving of death. Masamune's sword was hailed the greater of the two, and the reputation of muramasa swords was born. It is still murmured today that muramasa swords are steel incarnations of evil and blood-lust, and that once a muramasa is drawn, it fills it's owner with evil blood-lust, and it must draw blood before it can be sheathed again. The sword cares not where the blood comes from, whether from enemy, ally, or even the owner themselves, leading to set inflicted wounds or even suicide.

Ah hehe

As you can tell, I'm not well versed with One Piece.

Not all evil and blood lusting swords are muramasas though, so you have to careful when saying something is a Muramasa. It's like how all parakeets are birds, but not all birds are parakeets. There are plenty, I mean plenty, of evil swords that lust for blood. Muramasas are just one specific type of sword made by that legendary sword-smith.

I'm giving Ozpin a Muramasa in Mistakes, conceiled right in the cane. Due to the reputation of them being accurate though in the fanfic...yeah, he's not gonna just whip it out every battle. It's life or death, and even then he has to really think about using it.

Thinking of having him replace it with a Masamune though, or having him start with a Masamune, and after a battle in which his friends were hurt and he couldn't do anything, choose to switch to a Muramasa because of their reputation for being a powerful sword. Which route do you think is better, Masamune to start, or Muramasa.

supernobodyhome In reply to Yourarenotright [2014-02-26 20:51:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.

I like how it has the huge drawback of how if she makes even a tiny mistake, she'll crumple apart as well. We really don't get that sort of downside with most bankais, and for having one as powerful as Rukia's, it's good to see a drawback like that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Yourarenotright In reply to supernobodyhome [2014-02-26 22:50:49 +0000 UTC]

There are man disadvantages to bankai

Byakuya may sacrifice his own safety, ikkaku has to let himself get cut up, ichigo's own spiritual pressure crushes him, toshirou has to use alot of stamina in his fights, the giant slug thing can poison other allies with its gas, Renji's bankai has a weakness, it being not as large as before.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

supernobodyhome In reply to Yourarenotright [2014-02-26 23:24:11 +0000 UTC]

How many times is someone really gonna get that close to Byakuya though before they become little chucks of flesh and bone? There was Ichigo and Tsukishima, who I have no fucking clue how he not only survived that last ditch attack by Byakuya as long as he did, but how the hell did he manage to get up when he was missing past of his spine! If nothing else, Tsukishima must've had a strong as will or something to be able to do all that medical science defying bullshit.

Not necessarily. Getting injured decreases the time it takes his zanpaktou to wake up, but it's not something that's necessary for the bankai itself to be used to it's full potential.

True, I can't argue that fact, but whether it be because it's Ichigo or for some other reason, this seems to have been decreased immensely with the practice Ichigo has had with his bankai.

Maybe it does take a lot of stamina, but if Toshiro gets tired be doesn't crumble into a million fucking pieces like Rukia does if she makes a mistake with her bankai.

Ashisogi Jizo does have that drawback, but it's not really any danger to the owner itself.

Renji's bankai being smaller is actually more of a positive then a negative. Yeah, he can't ride it like a surfboard anymore, or is it as effective against larger enemies like Yammy anymore, but when you have a giant fucking fire snake of death swallow your enemies whole and reduce them to nothing but ash, size really begins to become no issue. Besides, his previous bankai left him at a huge disadvantage if someone got right up next to him. His new one takes that issue and throws it out the window of a twenty story building, and he still has the long range with his baboon arm, but now that it's where his arm itself is controlling it through natural movement, it's much easier to control then having to whip around that huge snake.

Yourarenotright In reply to supernobodyhome [2014-02-27 02:03:57 +0000 UTC]

Byakuya has the disadvantage if someone can get close, that's all i am saying.

Actually Ikkaku says he has to either get cut up or cut up his opponent, but most of the time it's him...

He can only use it for the three flowers on his back, his bankai has a time limit which is used up along with his power.

It doesn't always have to be the owner getting hurt.

While that may be true, the range could probably still be an issue and what if he meets an enemy he cannot overpower?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

supernobodyhome In reply to Yourarenotright [2014-02-27 03:35:18 +0000 UTC]

Again, he has the giant fire snake of death. If he can't take out someone with that, then he's simply not gonna be able to take them out, but his previous bankai had nothing that was remotely powerful as that anyway. He had his bamboo snake cannon, but that was more of a hado #30 rip off if anything with a little more power.

Yourarenotright In reply to supernobodyhome [2014-02-27 04:28:04 +0000 UTC]

True but it looked badass.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

supernobodyhome In reply to Yourarenotright [2014-02-27 04:31:31 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately, the usefulness of an ability and its power are not directly related to how cool or bad ass it looks.

Besides, maybe he'll be like Yumichika, and can decide between using the true or incomplete bankai. I personally don't see a reason why he couldn't.
