Description
In a garden of untouched wonder, innocent creatures gather around a winged unicorn. It frolics and capers untiringly, the light of its transcendent horn guiding time itself. That is why time is so flighty- one moment, the unicorn rears and stills in anticipation, the next it plunges wildly back into its eternal dance of mad ecstasy.... did I even use the word "transcendent" correctly?
Probably should have made the front legs smaller... and used a compass/protractor for the stained glass clock... and actually paid attention to the anatomy of the wings... and made the decorative twists on the frame more even... and fixed the curvature of the tail and snake... and-
Done w/in a time frame (lol) with oil paints on letter-sized cardboard. My oil paints had mostly ran out, so I made most of this painting with only 5 colors (and it looks it)- titanium white, yellow ocre, burnt umber, pthalo blue, and sap green. I didn't even have any red available for most of this!
The cardboard was taken from the bottom of some packaging.

The wings aren't bad at all actually. Better than any of mine. |D I feel like the place they're connected is a bit too high up (though that makes it look nicer artistically) but. Artistic license!
And the clock looks fine to me! The general shape anyway, that's what you'd want a compass for, right? |D The placing of those patterns on the inside edge throws me off a bit but the rest looks so great. ;;
I will admit the tail is a bit odd. I think the snake is fine, though.

The wings thing has more to do with the wing in the back, which looks odd as I didn't distinguish the primaries feathers from the secondaries.
I should have used a compass and protractor to make the clock's patterns evenly spaced (divided into 6). I doubt that they even converge at the center.
The snake is a bit stiff, though I admit that since the picture is more flatly and ornamentally arranged he'll probably be stiff anyways.
Glad though that you liked all the detail I put in (especially as this all fits on a 8.5 x 11 inch piece of cardboard.)
