Cool aircraft, love amphibian aircraft, don't know why gyro's aren't used more. They operate like a helicopter and plane at the same time. The US Osprey is tilt rotter aircraft with a horrible record of crashing and killing people, does this mean the gyrocopter is worse?

Gyrocopters are not that popular because in addition to combining the advantages of airplanes and helicopters they also combine their disadvantages, which makes them better than conventional aircraft in a very limited amount of roles (well, at least nowadays).
